Dania Beach, FL

BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ certified cities have programs and policies that make it easier for pets and pet owners to live a happy, healthy life together.

Why is Dania Beach a Pet-Friendly City?

Certified in the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™ program in 2020, Dania Beach, Florida, scored especially well in the Parks trait of our pet-friendly cities model.

Residents enjoy two great dog-friendly parks:

  • Precious Paws Dog Park at P.J. Meli Park is a free dog park that includes two separate spaces – one for smaller dogs and another for larger dogs. The park is also continuing to add agility equipment for exercise and training.
  • Tigertail Lake is a freshwater lake for where dogs can enjoy swimming and dock-jumping. It’s available for use by members of the community for a fee.

Dania Beach also offers a variety of community events that are pet-friendly, including Dania After Dark and the Art & Seafood Festival. Plus, local pet-friendly businesses and events can download signage from the city to help display their pet-friendliness, and the city website offers tips to help pet parents make responsible choices while out and about with their pets.

Dania Beach’s Mayor on Being Certified

“As a proud pet owner and fourth-generation Danian, I understand the importance of keeping our city pet-friendly and being certified as a BETTER CITIES FOR PETS. My dogs, Jackson and Banjo, love to play at Tigertail Dog Lake and Precious Paws Dog Park to exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Dania Beach welcomes pet owners and pet-friendly businesses to our city and will continue to bring fun and innovative ideas to delight our furry residents. See you all at the park!”
